10 Reasons Why You Should Be Using
Top Quality GMP Pharmaceutical
Grade Vitamin Supplements
Nutritional supplements, when used as a supplement to a healthy, whole food plan, can truly optimise your health and that of your nearest and dearest.
1. Many studies show that the nutritional status of many of our foodstuffs has degenerated as farming has become more intensive. New methods have allowed us to grow crops which look fine but are nutritionally deficient. Furthermore, many crops are sprayed with chemicals, pesticides, toxic poisons and preservatives to prolong shelf-life. Other foods are stored for long periods which further contributes to their nutritional degradation. Farm animals are routinely fed antibiotics. The result is that the food that we eat may be deficient in many essential nutrients, good fats and antioxidants and laden with harmful chemicals.
2. According to current scientific research, oxidation and/or inflammation are inherent in the most common diseases affecting modern society e.g.Heart disease; Cancer; Arthritis; Diabetes; Asthma; Allergies; Alzheimer’s Dementia; Macular Degeneration; Osteoporosis; in fact the aging process itself. New research is clearly showing heart disease (our number 1 killer) is a NOT a disease of cholesterol but a disease that involves oxidation and inflammation. Get educated - read “The Great Cholesterol Con” by Dr. Malcolm Kendrick.

3. There is a wealth of scientific research showing that Nutritional intervention at optimal levels (far above that which we can commonly get from our food) can slow or even reverse the course of these diseases. This led the very conservative Journal of the American Medical Association to conclude in one study “Most people do not consume an optimal amount of all vitamim diet alone. It appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements.” Another concluded “Inadequate intake of several vitamins has been linked to chronic discuss, including coronary heart disease, cancer and osteoporosis”.
4. The RDAS (Recommended Daily Allowances) for vitamins were set from 1941 as nutritional deficiency markers - e.g. a vitamin C level below the RDA could lead to scurvy. How many people do you know with scurvy? They were not set as nutritional optima or set with any relevance to degenerative diseases like heart disease and arthritis. Many supplements are only made with l0% of the RDA (this is if the tablet actually contains what is stated on the label - many don’t).
5. Latrogenic disease - that is disease caused by medical intervention -(this is barely believable) is statistically the third leading cause of death. If you want lifelong health, do some reading – try “The New Nutrition” by Dr Michael Colgan for starters and learn the truth. Empower yourself. Do not trust your health to others - the only person with a vested interest in keeping you healthy and fit is YOU.
6. Oxidation is caused by the normal process of our breathing and metabolising oxygen. It is increased by radiation (eg from sunlight), stress, poor food choices, toxins in our Water, pollution and increases with exercise.
7. 0ur acidic lifestyle - many foods are acidic when metabolised – contributes to minerals being leached from our bones to keep our blood pH constant. Minerals are also lost in sweat when training - one intense 2-hour training session can cause 400mg of calcium to be lost in sweat. Given that the body only absorbs about 1/3 of the calcium in our food an athlete working at this level would need to ingest 1200mg just to counteract this effect. There is a similar story with other minerals

8. Minerals are essential to our body’s ability to make endogenous antioxidants (those made in the body) and use dietary antioxidants. These must be at optimal levels for the body to be able to do this efficiently. In addition they help us to process our food efficiently. Indeed studies with optimal dosages of particular forms of chromium show increased muscle mass and decreased body fat just from its ingestion. Warning - do not take single nutrients in an attempt to self-prescribe... nutrients work in SYNERGY and the single nutrient approach is not sensible and can actually do more harm than good. If you are going to take a supplement, get them from a company with an intimate knowledge of cellular biochemistry.
9. Free radical production increases several-fold with exercise, resulting in muscle-soreness
amongst other things. This does not mean that we shouldn’t exercise as the health benefits are huge and numerous but sensible exercisers help themselves to recover faster by supplementing their diet with antioxidants to counteract this damage and let them train effectively again sooner.
10. Each one of the 100 trillion or so of our body’s cells is surrounded by a lipid (fatty) membrane. If that membrane is made of the correct types of fats and NOT oxidised it will be able to excrete toxins and take in nutrients efficiently. This is a dual argument for good fats and enough antioxidants to keep those good fats in their correct state. Oxidised fats in the body “rust” or become rancid and cannot function properly.
It is most important when choosing a supplement to evaluate its efficacy carefully - incorrectly balanced formulas, inadequate dosages, poor manufacturing are unfortunately rife in the supplement industry.
For a fraction of the price of a cup of coffee each day we believe we are giving ourselves the best chance of a long, healthy and productive life.
